Outdoor Courts in Scottsdale, Arizona

Demand for outdoor courts in North Scottsdale has grown substantially over the past decade, driven by the pickleball boom and by homeowners who want resort-caliber amenities on their own property. DC Ranch, Silverleaf, and the communities along the 85255 and 85262 corridors are active markets for pickleball and sand volleyball - and increasingly for multi-sport configurations that combine both on a single footprint.

Court Types

Court Types We Design and Build

Scottsdale homeowners are adding private courts as part of full outdoor living environments. The court should work for the sport, fit the site, pass review, and look intentional on the property.

Pickleball Courts

Regulation and custom residential pickleball courts with base, surfacing, striping, net systems, fencing, lighting, and surrounding hardscape.

Sand Volleyball Courts

Private sand volleyball courts with drainage, containment, sand depth, post systems, lighting, and seating or shade nearby.

Basketball and Multi-Use Layouts

Court areas can be planned for shooting, family play, or multiple activities where the property footprint allows.

Court Surrounds

Landscape, turf, decomposed granite, shade structures, seating, and pathways make the court feel like part of the estate.

Ground Up

Built Right From the Ground Up

A court is only as good as its base, drainage, layout, and finish system. We design for Arizona heat, monsoon drainage, playability, and long-term durability.

Site Selection and Orientation

We evaluate sun path, views, neighbor proximity, available clearance, drainage, and access before deciding where the court belongs.

Base and Surface System

The base, tile or coating system, striping, and edge details are selected for the sport and property conditions.

Fencing, Lighting and Shade

Perimeter fencing, LED lighting, and shade structures are planned with HOA requirements and evening use in mind.

Outdoor Experience

Courts and Pools Designed Together

On larger Scottsdale properties, courts often sit near pools, ramadas, outdoor kitchens, turf, and lounge areas. Designing those pieces together creates a more useful and better-looking outdoor environment.

Resort-Style Layouts

Courts can be positioned as part of an entertainment zone rather than isolated at the edge of the property.

Pool and Hardscape Transitions

When Copper Leaf Pools is involved, we coordinate elevations, decking, drainage, access, and landscape between pool and court areas.

Family and Guest Use

Shade, seating, lighting, and pathways make the court easier to use and more comfortable for spectators.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

What outdoor courts do you build in Scottsdale?

We build pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, and multi-use court configurations. We do not currently build standalone tennis courts as a primary scope.

Do HOAs in Scottsdale allow outdoor courts?

Most do, with conditions. DC Ranch, Silverleaf, and Desert Mountain allow outdoor courts subject to ARC approval for dimensions, fencing height, surface color, and lighting. We manage the approval process and know each community's requirements before we design.

Do you build outdoor courts with shade and lighting in Scottsdale?

Yes - and we recommend it. An uncovered, unlit court in Arizona gets limited use. We design shade ramadas and LED lighting into every court project.

Can you add an outdoor court to an existing Scottsdale property?

Yes. We assess the available footprint, grade, and drainage, design the court and its surroundings, and manage permitting and ARC submittal.
